SPKC call centre for residents about COVID-19 - 67387661

Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (SPKC) provides a possibility for residents to get answers to the interested questions about the disease caused by the novel coronavirus COVID-19.

When calling to the phone number 67387661, SPKC specialists will answer the questions of residents in relation to COVID-19, including provide also recommendations in the relevant situation, and indicate where to find more detailed information on the interested topic.

SPKC employees of the informative phone provides information, individual consultations on working days from 8:30 to 21:00 o’clock, but on weekends from 8:30 to 17:00 o’clock.


In order to perform COVID-19 tests, patients with mild symptoms of the disease should call to the newly established State Emergency Medical Service phone - 8303

This phone number should be used by those, who have returned from abroad and who have mild symptoms of disease (increased temperature, cough, sore throat), as well as the contact persons determined by epidemiologists of the Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (SPKC), who are quarantined and when onset of symptoms of the disease occurs within 14 days. The same like before, you should call to the emergency phone 113 in the event of severe symptoms of the disease (very high temperature, difficulty breathing).

Calls regarding making of laboratory tests will be accepted via the new phone number 8303 every day from 9:00 to 18:00 o’clock.

Important to know - medical consultations or information on COVID-19 will not be provided via this phone, it will register only applications for tests.

Testing will be performed according to the row; the waiting time may be twenty-four hours or slightly longer. During the call the patient will be informed on the place and time of performance of tests. We recommend residents to be understanding as far as there may be situations, when due to the huge numbers of calls the connection with 8303 will not happen at once and you have to wait.


Family doctor's consultative phone - 66016001

The National Health Service (NVD) reminds that residents may receive medical consultations and recommendations on how to act in the cases of acute diseases or acute conditions of chronic diseases during non-working hours of family doctors by calling to the Family doctors’ consultative phone 66016001. Further on it will work for twenty-four hours a day. Medical advices are provided in Latvian, Russian and English. Residents from across the whole Latvia and from all telecommunication operators may call to the number 66016001.

This is a phone for medical consultations - doctors of the family doctors’ phone will not provide information on COVID-19 tests or other information on COVID-19.


State funded tests are performed by E.Gulbja Laboratory (Riga, Brīvības gatve 366) by applying in advance via the phone number 67801112.

State funded COVID-19 tests may be performed also at E.Gulbja Laboratory in Riga, at Brīvības gatve 366, by applying in advance via phone number 67801112, every day between 8:00 and 20:00 o’clock.

Persons, who have returned from abroad and who have onset of mild symptoms of disease (increased temperature, cough, sore throat) within 14 days from return, as well as the contact persons determined by epidemiologists of the Centre for Disease Prevention and Control, who are quarantined and when onset of symptoms of the disease occurs within 14 days, may apply for the state-funded tests.

Important! You may go to this laboratory and to the mobile points for provision of tests only by your own car! If you do not have a car, residents have to call to 8303 and doctors of the State Emergency Medical Service or specialists of the Central Laboratory will go to your place of residence to take the test.
