In order to ensure safety of patients and doctors, scheduled health care services will be temporary limited due to COVID-19

In order to protect patients and medical practitioners from possible infection with COVID-19, considering the epidemiological situation in the country, health care services will be partially restricted in both, public as well as private health facilities, until the end of the emergency. It has been approved today by order of the Minister of Health Ilze Vinkele (Ilze Viņķele).

The National Health Service (NVD) informs that starting as of Monday, 23 March, new additionally established COVID-19 test giving points have started to work in several regional towns, where, pursuant to prior application and upon arrival by a private car, patients will be able to give state-funded tests in case of suspicions on disease. In total, the Latvian residents, who have returned from abroad and have mild symptoms of disease, now may give COVID-19 tests in seven town across Latvia or 13 test giving places.
