Information on booster vaccination

If you receive an additional dose of the vaccine or a booster, your existing COVID vaccination certificate will still be valid and can be used in the future. At the same time, a Certificate of Booster Vaccination for the additional dose received (dose 3 or 4) will be available on www.covid19sertifikats.lv. It is suitable for immediate use. It should also be noted that the data on vaccinations administered are entered into the system within 48 hours.

Vaccination certificate will be considered valid for use in the territory of the Republic of Latvia only if at least 15 days have passed since the receipt of the first dose of Janssen vaccine or the second dose of Comirnaty (Pfizer), Spikevax (Moderna) or Vaxzevria (AstraZeneca) vaccine.

For entry into the Republic of Latvia vaccination certificate will be valid only if one dose of Janssen vaccine or two doses of Comirnaty (Pfizer), Spikevax (Moderna), Vaxzevria (AstraZeneca) vaccine have been received and at least 15 days have passed since the last dose of the vaccine. 

Individuals who have recovered from COVID can only receive a vaccination certificate if they have initially recovered from COVID (must be confirmed by a laboratory-positive PCR test in Latvia) and subsequently received one of two doses of Comirnaty (Pfizer-BioNTech), Spikevax (Moderna), Vaxzevria (AstraZeneca) or one dose of Janssen vaccine and 14 days have passed since the vaccination, excluding the day of vaccination.

Certificate of recovery will be issued and will be valid if at least 11 days have been passed since a positive test result (Coronavirus 2019-nCov RNS) (certificate validity period - 180 days). 

From 7 March 2022, the COVID disease certificate will also be available on the basis of a positive antigen rapid test if the rapid antigen test was performed in a medical institution or a pharmacy by a medical practitioner, pharmacist or other person referred to in the Cabinet Regulation (in accordance with the Decision of European Commission of 22 February 2022).
